Launched in 2026 with 27 performances, the festival moves to the CKM Main Stage in its second year and adds the Young Percussionist Competition and workshops.
Last year
The first festival took place in June 2026 in CKM Hall A: 27 performances, solos and ensembles, Engin Gürkey as guest, and a finale that filled the stage. In its second year the festival moves to the big hall, the CKM Main Stage, and adds the competition and workshops to the programme.
Festival director
Percussionist · Composer · Music educator
Completed his high-school, bachelor's and master's studies in percussion at Istanbul University State Conservatory; his master's thesis examines the historical development of world percussion rhythms. Founder of Aker Sanat Music and Arts Academy, founding director of the Khalkedon Ensemble groups, and writer, composer and director of "Drums of Wars", a percussion stage production performed by a 17-member cast at the CKM Main Stage, Kozyatağı Cultural Centre and Yalova. Percussion instructor at Kadıköy Municipality Youth Arts Centre; percussionist with the Monster Game Music Orchestra.
He brought the 1st Istanbul International Percussion Meetings to life at CKM in 2026 with 27 performances. In the second year he moves the festival to the Main Stage and adds the Young Percussionist Competition and workshops to the programme.
